Recieving MMS Messages through Verizon
 

How can I receive picture messages through Verizon? I have a text plan and had no problem receiving them with my Treo. The messages show up, it just won't allow me to download the picture/video. Running of Windows Helmi 6.1 Kitchen. Any suggestions?

try forcing your phone in 1x mode. works for me

I haven't had any problems with my 6700. I used the 6.1 kitchen and checked Arcsoft MMS. Send and recieve pix now all the time no problem. And don't force it into 1x mode, don't even remember how to do that, haven't used my 6700 for like 4-5 months until last week when I broke my Samsung phone. There's evdo all over the place here, so I know it's not just me only being in 1x and not evdo.

with vzw and the 6700 it is different. A normal txt plan doesnt work for us. You have to have a data plan to do pix/flix. A normal txt/pix/flix plan work won't. There are numerous threads on this.

not true, i have no data plan, but i have unlimited txt/flx, the problem is without the data plan,. when your phone connects to download the msgs in evdo you get an error, something like, erroneous ip occured or some nonsense, forcing 1x lets it work. it's how i get my pix.

You had better compose a formal thread then sir, because many have been looking for a work around for as long as I have been a member and have yet to find one. Sprints was worked around for some time but then something changed on the server side. So if what you say is true then maybe you have struck a vein of gold.

[edit] I know how to go into the registry and enable the display the settings for Mode of Operation and giving you the options of Hybrid/EVDO/1X or are you going into the EPST and into Modem Settings?

i went through mode of operation, and made it 1x only. i found this out because i couldn't send/receive texts with my phone cuz it'd always say error with something to the effect of erroneous mobile ip occored, or something.. but when i get to my house, i can send, and i have really low service in my house and only goes to 1x, so i switched it over, and now i can send/receive anywhere. i'm the only person that i know personally with a 6700 and verizon so it works for me, let me know if it works for you


edit: i hope i didn't come off like an *** earlier i don't mean disrespect, just letting you guys know my experience.

all my settings are default, aside from forcing 1x thru mode of operation. The only other thing i have changed is i assigned a user name to the 777 data connection so that it won't dial without me letting it. this shouldn't change anything.
