Sprint vs. Verizon's Radio ROM

Anyone know what the difference is between Sprint's latest Radio ver. 1.27 and Verizon's 1.10?

Are they interchangeable? In other words, can I use 1.27 on my VZW XV6700?

I couldn't find a thread about this on the forums here. But I probably didn't search thoroughly...

No they're not interchangeable. In fact I think someone bricked their phone last week doing that exact thing.

Well, that person accidentally flashed a ROM that had been "modified" by a well-intentioned forum member.

I'm not necessarily advising you go out of your way to flash another carrier's radio ROM on your 6700, but I will say that I did that quite a few times with my 6600 and half the time it was compatible, and the other half it wasn't (i.e. phone could get no service), but I was always able to reflash to another radio ROM without problem.

I strongly suspect that the problem you're speaking of was caused by the modifications made to that verizon radio file.

That's exactly why I'm asking. I remember using other carrier's Radio ROM (02, iMate I think) when I had my 6600 with Cingular and I didn't run into any problems. But after I read that thread that both of you mention, I figured I ask first, and see if it's even worth the trouble/risk.
