IMAP Problems PPC 6700

Why am I unable to set up IMAP for gmail (alltel) It never gives me the option to "not automaticly get settings" and it defaults to POP and grays it out.

I'd like to know the same thing. I went back in after setting up the email and changed the servers to IMAP, but no go.
