Verizon phone and 3.3
Hello all I had a simular problem after updating except my radio file was installed. After the update I could not connect to tower, after putting everything back from stock rom the problem was still there, Had the techs from verizon try to figure out why I lost signal they had no clue. what happened was I could only connect to tower in home only mode and I am out of state so verizon said that shouldn't work, they told me to put in automatic B and we could not connect to a tower, the phone after updating is useless now so verizon sent me a replacement and I am afriad to mess with it until I get back home. But I did compare the two phones using ## debug and the old phone had a better reception number then the new one but wouldn't connect to tower and text messages also wouldn't work new phone working fine. I only used the beta 2 version. I am in alaska so no *228 to update the phone

My current idea for this is a pdocread. Any others agree? I think that has worked for backups of bootloaders and rom images. I would think it could work for the radio too if we have a verizon user that could do a pdocread maybe this could be used for these phones. I'm sorry I left that file up with no warning. It was intended as a test to replace a radio rom on a phone that already wasn't able to be flashed.
Unfortunately i dont think this has been investigated much with the Apache. There is a very long and detailed thread on XDA about a similar issue with the hermes though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755 It includes some info about the CID and the wiki has some info on the erase procedure for the HERMES (not apache, but should have some good troubleshooting ideas) Can you get a log from during the rom update failure with USB monitor ( http://www.hhdsoftware.com/Products/...b-monitor.html ) and use Edit -> Export and Save as type "ANSI Text files" to post to the forum? The way i see it, this can be fixed if it will connect in bootloader we should theoretically be able to write to any portion of the phone, but it seems there are intricacies with the radio portion. Although the insurance guys will probably think it looks like something that happened when your computer BSOD during the radio flash of the reccommended update ![]() |

kdoweb,
sorry i've been editing the heck out of my previous post (instead of posting lots of replies) while reading an xda thread. The pdocread procedure would not involve any rom flashing on their device, but i don't think it will really help. I think the problem is the CID check and i'm not sure if our bootloader has a similar fix as the one version of the hermes loader does where the CID check can be skipped. I wish i had more time to help right now and i'm am very sorry that this has happened, but i will try to take a look again tomorrow evening as that is the earliest i will have time again. In the meantime please keep posting updates here as there are lots of others that are very knowledgable and helpful. armorwolf, Your issue should be fixed by reloading a stock rom. If you have a specific problem with one of the customs please post your issues in the thread that has been started for that particular rom. |

ImCoKeMaN,
Hey man, I knew what I was getting into when I started playing in the Kitchen, so please don't feel responsible. We tried something, it didn't work. Thanks to you for getting the Apache development moving. Don't sweat it. |
