Apache WiFi problems (WM 5.1)

Hi Guys.
First time user of an Apache, and having problems surfing the net via WiFi.
Its surfs fine using the USB cable, but not WiFi.
In Settings/Connections/Wireless Lan it says Status: Connected to network.
In Settins/Connections/Network cards it shows the network and the message "Connecting" so I'm not sure if is connected or not, as it keeps trying to use T3G to connect to the net when I open explorer.
The network I am trying to access is open with no encryption, laptops connect to it no prob.

Any help or comment appreciated.

Re: Apache WiFi problems (WM 5.1)

I've got WM6 running but WM5 has a Comm Manager. There, turn on WIFI. Next do Start>Settings>Connections Tab>WIFI (not WLAN). You should see available WIFI networks. Pick your SSID and hit connect in lower left or touch and hold for connect option. Once connected the WIFI icon should show up (kind of a lollipop with arrows back and forth) next to the phone icon (triangle on stick).

If it says "connecting" you are not connected so you won't be able to surf. Might be same problem as couple of post down. Is the router set to "mixed" mode and not g only? The 6700 is only b, not b/g.

Re: Apache WiFi problems (WM 5.1)

You might also check....Setting/Connections/Wifi/Network Adapters/tiacxwin Compatible Wireless Ethernet

and make sure you have it set to "Use server-assigned IP address"

I always have to check this setting after I use WifiRouter and trying to connect to my home wifi network...or else it will just sit there try to connect forever and never connect.
