you wont have any issues with the palm sms app as it installs flawlessly on 2.3 and higher builds of the AKU. I am sporting it on the 3.5 and that rom is nice with exception of USB...I like it though. BT works very well once you patch it.

Did you overwrite the files from /Program Files/Palm Messaging to /Windows?

Seems like after I do that, and I reset the phone, I lose my Phone, and pressing the Phone button, leads to a 'cprog.exe not a valid application' error.

Is it due to that? Or the fact that I renamed 'SDMemory.dll'?

In 3.3 you don't need to move files around (i.e. copy files to directory). It installs perfectly automatically. JUst install and reset.

i shouldnt say flawlessly - MMS doesnt work yet.

Heres a tip.

Uninstall the palm sms folder on your program files directory. Its only there for copying those files on 2.2 rom and lower.

Its taking up your precious space

Nope, not in the Palm app. But, I pulled the MMS app from the VZ extended rom & it does fine as a workaround.

I have not been able to get a notification sound when a text comes in. I have aku 3.3 on my xv6700. When I text myself, I will get a new text message sound but if I get a text message from someone else, I will get no sound notification. I have made sure that a sound has been assigned in the settings of the phone, anyone one have any ideas?

Edit. forget it, I realized that the sound notification only occurs when you are not in chat mode.

So, if I'm using 3.3, and I've installed the Palm app successfully, i should uninstall it to save space? Will this not uninstall the app entirely?

I believe you just have to go into the Programs folder and DELETE the Palm Messaging Folder. That paticular folder had the 12 or 13 files you need to copy to the window's directory for prior roms.
