i think there is a bug somewhere with this app, whenever i have it installed and do a cold restart, i lose my contacts program and have to eventually do a hard reset to get it back, all of my contacts are gone too. only noticed it in 3.3

I certainly have never had that problem and have used the app with 3.3 both via a traditional install, and via an OEM kitchen folder.

i think i fixed it for me, i moved the messaging file in \windows\start up\ to my doc's, just so i would have it for a backup, and now i dont get the error on boot, i can open contacts, and i can open the palm app just fine. weird.

What is so special about the 3.5 that the 3.3 doesn't have?

Also how do you sync via active sync(file tranfser, etc.) and charge your phone without USB abilities?

When you install the app, it creates 2 messaging and 2 inbox. sometimes it might place 1 or both of them in \windows\start up\ or in the \windows\startup\programs. if its in the latter, the extra will look like this inbox(1). what you want to do is delete the duplicates. i personally delete any inbox or messaging in \windows\start up and leave the ones in the \windows\start up\programs folder (i delete any duplicates in here also). I have never had any problems and have done this install a multiple amount of times. Also if you have AKU greater than 2.3 do not copy over the 12 files and delete the palm messaging folder in program files. You do not need it for any reason at all.

Just to let you know, you're not the only one who's run into that contacts disappearing problem with palm messaging. When I got beta 4 of the palm app, that fixed all the problems ('cept MMS obviously) and haven't had a problem since. What version of the palm app you usin?
