You can try this registry entry and see if it works for you:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\tiacxwln1\Parms] add this dword "dot11SupportedRateMaskG"=dword:8 Don't know if it works or not

You could try a cheap card, but it is always a risk. I always pony up and get a Sandisk for a little extra money. That's just me though. Plenty of people have success with other stuff.

...and beware of buying any cards off of ebay... especially those advertised as Sandisk. There are many trustyworthy ebayers out there but the market is flooded with fake Sandisk cards. Even some sellers don't know they are fake. Ebay has some links on how to spot fake sandisks (ie. from physical features... ie. the packaging, serial numbers...etc. Just a tip from personal experience...)
but I did finally get legit sandisk ultra 2GB mini from ebay for a great price. (even checked the serial numbers with sandisk customer service!!) If money is not an issue just go to Best Buy and get sandisk. |

I read an article on WM msdn that there was no specification on how to rate speed when it comes to Secure Digital media, a company could theroreticly call anything 40x, as long as it was 40x faster than something else. so, buyer beyware. Sandisks are top of the line though.
