I attempted to to just this very thing this morning; transfer to my phone.
Instead, I got a message that some files may need to be converted and active sync converted my MMS (.cab) from one of the post here, into a zip, then wouldn't open. |

And to be clear, once you transfer the file you open it from the 6700, not on your PC. |

Maybe you downloaded the MMS file in zip format to begin with? Cab files are often zipped up to save space. If you open up the zip file from your PC do you see the cab file inside? If so, extract it and then copy the cab file you extracted over.
If not, I'm not sure what's going on. But I can tell you one thing for sure--activesync will never convert a cab file to anything else. Windows Mobile devices live and breathe cab files so activesync knows to keep them as-is. Try it again (maybe with a different cab file) and see what happens. |

If he has a tool like winrar installed on his PC (dont we all), cab files show up on the PC with the same icon as a zip/rar/tar file. Heck, it even does a somewhat good job at extracting files out of cabs... so you may have the right file, just put it on the phone and try running it there.
