Unhappy RUU issue...Country ID error

Phone having problems:
PPC xv6700 using cricket as a provider
v1.04 bootloader
was able to upgrade to 6.0 with no problems.
now unable to upgrade to 6.1

We have tried to upgrade the phone to version 6.1 and each time there is an error 120: country id error. we get this error on an xp desktop, vista desktop, and vista laptop.

in our search for answers, we found that the RUU should be changed to NoID. howeer in bootloader v1.04, the only option available in the dropdown list is standard.

does anyone have any suggestions, advice, or ANYTHING in order to be able to update this phone to 6.1? we cannot find anything that has worked so far.

*we were able to update my phone (PPC xv6700 using verizon as a provider v2.02 bootloader) to 6.1 (from wm5) with no problem from the vista laptop.

Re: RUU issue...Country ID error

I suppose I could also ask...is it possible to upgrade/downgrade the bootloader from v1.04 (as the other bootloader versions have the NoID option available and not just standard)?

You can revert any bootloader on this device.

Re: RUU issue...Country ID error

You could:
1) Upgrade the XV6700 to SuperCID.
Use EFS explorer (QPST) to open NVM folder, export the nvm.htc and open it through Winhex. Then look for the chart "VZW_001" or "SPCS_001", I don't know which your carrier is, please look for your carrier header chart and modify it to "SuperCID".

2) Use No_ID to uograde.

You can choose any method of the above two.
Good Lucky!

Re: RUU issue...Country ID error

ew. That's not not recommended for the average person, as you can brick your phone if you screw up nvm.

Follow the bootloader reversion thread in the parent Apache forum (it's stickied at the top)
