Re: BT headset button won't activate phone
Yep, I did check the software that was included. It does in fact have a voice dialer included with it, although I installed a different one and tried putting its .exe file into the registry key where one specifies the name of the program to run when the BT headset's button is pressed. Neither one worked. The problem is that nothing at all happens when I hit the BT button - the phone doesn't wake up at all, and it doesn't activate any program that might be indicated by that registry key. I think the problem is "upstream" of having or not having a piece of software - I think the phone is not woken up by the BT button so it never gets to try to run anything. Actually, even if the phone is awake, the button doesn't do anything. The BT headset's button only works within the phone application, to answer an incoming call or to hang up a call. Do you know of any way to debug this problem? I am trying to find anyone else using this ROM to see if they have the same problem, but so far no one has replied.
Thanks, Mike |

Re: BT headset button won't activate phone
Don't know what the ROM u are using is 5, 6, or 6.1. Have you ever considered cooking with the Helmi 6.0 kitchen? One of the software options is Voice Command. The voice recognition works great on my Jabra headset. It not only controls phone but opens programs as well.

Hey, it is not hard at all. You definitely don't need to pay anyone (you might consider a donation to the kitchen makeers). You just need the kitchen (PPC-BuildOS), the OEM.rar (ingredients or your carrier specific info), and the RUU (the updater). I read a bit before I did it just to make sure I couldn't do anything really bad (but there is always the disclaimer that you could brick your phone). I feel pretty comfortable with the latest WM6 kitchen but I'm holding out on the 6.1 (seems a bit buggy for me from the posts). The main things are make sure you have an XP machine with AS 4.5, .NET 2.0 Framework, and check as few of the options as you can in your ROM recipe (it's hard cuz like being in a candy store) so that the ROM is not too big.
Check it out this tutorial by Ga.Medic et.al.: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...light=gguruusa Or you can buy Voice Command from Microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...d/default.mspx It's about $40 and doesn't announce right in headset in WM5.
