Can I remove the ext rom and flash the Cingular 8125.

Hey Colonel or other experts

Will the 8125 work with this custom rom? the beta2 works great on my XV6700 but my mom use the 8125 from Cingular.

I am not to sure about that, because that is a gsm phone, while our phones are CDMA. If you check on XDAdev forums you should be able to find custom roms for that phn. Might be 3.5 or 3.0. Goodluck

There is a very sweet custom 3.3 at xda-developers. I have it running on my GFs 8125. Just make sure you follow all the steps as far as knowing if you have a G3 or G4 device, unlocking, downgrading, etc. Takes some time, but well worth it.

By any chance will it work on a T-mobile mda. have a couple of those that need to be upgraded.

Can't answer that for sure. Might want to read the thread over there. There may be one for an mda. I am just now getting in to those roms (finally got the Crossbow rom dumped

). Unfortunately, though, I am unable to give you a definitive answer. You seem to know what you are doing, so give it a shot if you want. Big thing though is that the Wizards have to be CIDunlocked and downgraded, then upgraded even before install of the custom. So, be careful

I was just reading that. 2 of the MDA's I am working with are supposed to have been unlocked, but I never checked with the owners on wether it was really done. I have done everything i can do on the PPC's with those phns apart from playing with their extended roms or anything like that. Hopefully they will be willing to let me brick their phns and then i can have some fun.
