Remote Control?

Ok,
I used .Pocket to control my Dell Axim from my desktop PC. Problem is, it does not support WM5, is there a similar program that does support WM5? Its a lot faster for me to setup driving routes for work using a program like that than to use the PDA screen/keyboard itself.

Copied from another site...

You can use the activesync remote display
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...ctoys.mspx#ELD

Download/run the .exe on your pc.

Basically, all you need to do is copy the two files in "C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys\ActiveSync_Remote_Display\devices\wce400\armv 4t" to the \WINDOWS directory on your WM5.0 device using ActiveSync.

When you fire up the shortcut for ActiveSync Remote Display on your PC, it complains that "The OS or CPU of this device is unknown to this application" - just click OK and your WM5.0 display will appear in the main window!!!! The first time that you start and stop the remote display, your phone/device will give you the "This program is from an unknown publisher...." message, so just say Yes and it won't ask you again.

The only caveat is that you seem to get the remote display icon (windows logo in a circle) in the notification area (where the battery and screen rotation icons are) one position to the left each time you stop and start the remote display. No big deal, but can look a bit weird after you've stopped/started about ten times

F1 = Left Soft Key
F2 = Right Soft Key
F3 = Green Button
F4 = Red Button
F6 = Volume Up
F7 = Volume Down
Windows Button/Start Button = Home (Although it brings up start menu on pc)

Enjoy!

how bout 700wx?

Works great on the 6700, including the F keys great way to use my phone during the day, but just added a 700wx to the office and am not looking forward to trying all the processor version folders, the armv4t seems to not be the one for it.
any one know which folder to use for the 700wx?
Thanks

I use that powertoy as well, and personally, I've never had to manually copy files over to the device. I just run the exe with my ppc synced. The ppc prompts me to install the sw, which I do. Then I just run the host on the pc and the client on the ppc...and poof!...remote control.

I assume it will work on any WM2003+.

I go with Pocket Controller-Professional only because there is no launching the pc side app. When I plug in and active sync starts it auto launches pocket controller. Also I do like the clipboard syncing so I can cut and paste data seamlessly tween pc and ppc. It's 35 bucks, which is above my 20 dollar limit on ppc software, but it is so handy to have a softphone looking at me all day.
