Almost a brick

I have a PPC6700 that was running a WM6 rom(Helmi) and worked fine for a couple of months. Last night it just died. I cannot get it to do anything except go into bootloader mode. Even then, I cannot update the ROM, as my Vista PC won't recognize the device.(it had been previously connected without a problem). The battery charging light never comes on. I replaced the battery, with no change. I plugged directly into the wall, no change. I was able to a hard reset and clear storage once, but not since. It will still enter bootloader mode.
I was thinking the USB might be broken, but my PC attempts to connect when I put the device in the cradle. The PC will say that the device is not reconized though. When I put the device in bootloader mode and try to install a new ROM I will get a connection error.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Almost a brick

Have you tried an XP workstation to see if does the same thing?
Have you tried the Stuck in Bootloader Mode method in the sticky section?

Re: Almost a brick

Plug it in and wait for Vista to find it. Then goto the device manager and uninstall it. Remove the phone, reboot computer, then try again.
