MINI SD dead

Hi guys.

Just this morning my 2gb MINI SD died. I bought it 4 days ago for $20 from an online store. I"ll post the link (need to dig from my history).

At first on my ppc after a softreset it gave me a msg "the storage card needs to be formated" or somethign to that effect. I obviously went "No" as i had all my stuff there. Then i pluggged it into the computer and treid to access it. Gave me the same message saying format required. I eventually formatted it. Now when i insert it in the PPC its not even detected. I 've tried using it on the desktop and the PC does not even pick it up anymore. Ive flashed my rom back to the official sprint release thinking that its a rom related issue but still no go.

My question(s) at this point: Has anyone else expereienced this? A fix to this?

2. Is it because i got a cheap kind? Is this a known issue i.e. v. cheap miniSD cards die soon or unreliable?

Any help or comments will be much appreciated.

dunno, I know sometimes my PPC, will just not detect my card, and I have to put it in a few times before it will recognize it.

this has been a common issue it seems. i have heard alot of people talking about returning them and upgrading with something like SanDisk. a known brand that is known to work well. i use a transcend 2 gb mini sd.

I have a 2gb Sandisk and my buddy has a 2gb transcend, I'm running 3.3 and he's running stock verizon 2.whateveritis, and neither of us have had any problems. I personally have never had a DSOD or any issues where the SD disappears, and I use it a ton.

Hope this info helps... (spend the extra and buy from a company that has a good return policy.)
