AKU 3.3 Pic/Vid Fix?

I keep seeing a 'Pic/Vid' fix in the custom roms. I am assuming this refers to when you try and take a picture or video, and return to view the pictures and the phone locks up...

I would just like to know if there is a way to fix this without having to install someone elses ROM. (Such as a registry edit or file swap etc)

Read the original "Get Helmi_c 3.3 AKU" thread. In the first few pages is the fix. Maybe its in the problems with Helmi_c 3.3 thread. It has to do with the msvcr80.dll and the mfc80u.dll (spelling might be off a bit).

I also have that same problem with the video and pic. section. I even went to the problem section for Hemi_c 3.3 and the original "Get Helmi_c 3.3" I don't see the fix. Can someone please direct me to that section, so I can get this fix. Thank You!

ok I think I found it, but can you tell me where is the windows directory "can you point me in the right direction"

You need to move the two files in \Windows\OEM into \Windows, then soft-reset. Total Commander can move them, I don't know if the built in file explorer can. There are 2 dlls there, just need to move them to \Windows.

i dont have a windows/oem directory. been having problems with pictures and videos freezing after about 2 days of using aku3.5.

I think his issue might be something different, as with the bad files in the windows dir, it locks hard as soon as you open p&v the first time, everytime. I wonder if his issue is something that he has installed thats eating mem, and after a few days of use, when he tries to open p&v, it finally puts it over the edge and locks.

im going to try to install an aku3.3 (once i decide on one) once i get home tonite. i tried uninstalling some software. the only new thing i put on this am was the Eten dialskin. maybe that was the problem? tried uninstalling it but a pain. thanks for the help
