Not new to PPCs, Just the apache. One hopefully simple question...

I recently purchased an Apache from a guy who just happened to come into my store and had just upgraded to a Touch and still had his old Apache on him. Oddly, he had his charger, 2 extra batteries, an extended battery and cover, and 3 extra styli. I bought all of this for only $40 for my fiance and the phone is in remarkable condition for being a, now, 3rd owner phone.

Short and sweet, I downloaded the kitchen already and have already built the ROM that I will be flashing to the device.

My question: Do I have to do any sort of "Unlocking" to the Apache like I had to do to my Sprint Touch before upgrading to 6.1? If so, can someone please point me to the appropriate thread because I just can't seem to find it.

Thanks, Dan.

nope, just go into BL mode and run the *rom.exe* on the PC and it will flash the phone. In other words, it is no different than how you(we) flash any other 6700

Thank you for the quick reply. I am no novice when it comes to flashing Windows Mobile Based Phones as I have owned more than my fair share and helped friends with many others but was not familiar with the PPC-6700 as this is my first go at this device.

Thanks again, Dan.
