Oh, I happen to have two Sprint PPC6700s here. One is running the stock Sprint ROM, the other is running colonel's latest. RX Power on them is comparable... usually always differs by a couple dbm but sometimes the AKU2 unit is lower, and sometimes the AKU3 unit is lower. In other words, statistically insignificant.

For those who are having reception problems, use fieldtrial to check your RX power right after a call drops or fails to go through. If you're anywhere near 100 dbm you should expect to have problems no matter what handset you're using.

(P.S. And I'm definitely referring to the 1x section of FieldTrial. The HDR section is only for EV-DO towers which have nothing to do with voice calls.

Dumb question, but have you tried downloading the installer again? Perhaps the file was corrupted in the download. What other radio.nbfs have you tried?

I too have a problem with significantly weaker signal with the latest 3.3 ROM. I used to get 5 bars of EVDO (with the stock aku 2.2 rom), now I get 4 bars of 1x and sometimes 0-1 bars of EVDO. I'm also having problems with data as well where after a while of transferring or streaming data, it will come to a screaching halt (this is in a different location with a constant 2 bar EVDO signal).

kdoweb,
I started a new thread for the radio rom problems: http://www.ppcgeeks.com/verizon-radi...ems-t2724.html

I'll try to get the baseline info put into that first post and then we can track this better. I don't want this to hikack Colonel's thread (especially since it looks like a file i posted is the cause )

The prl is not in the rom. It is a function of the radio and a prl update is applied to it. Best thing to do is to get the 20225 cab and use it. I have not had a chance to get it put into the ExtRom that is posted.
