The wizards at xda have this in their 3.3 rom for the Wizard and it is really a great idea. I just don't have the time to mess with it right now.
do you think Leave the config.txt for core/common cab and put carrier spesific item in Autoconfig_carrier.txt and operator in Autoconfig.txt is possible?

EXAMPLE:
Config.txt
Code:
;at the very end of config.txt should look like this
CPY1:\Extended_ROM\Autoconfig_carrier.txt
CPY2:\Windows\Autoconfig.txt
EXEC:\Windows\Autoconfig.exe
CPY1:\Extended_ROM\Autoconfig.txt
CPY2:\Windows\Autoconfig.txt
EXEC:\Windows\Autoconfig.exe
RST: Reset
Autoconfig_carrier.txt
Code:
;#############
;##Autoconfig_carrier.txt
;#############

[Carrier1]
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Carrier1.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Carrier1_2.CAB
XML: \Extended_ROM\Carrier1.xml
etc...
[Carrier2]
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Carrier2.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Carrier2_2.CAB
XML: \Extended_ROM\Carrier2.xml
etc...
[Carrier3]
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Carrier3.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Carrier3_2.CAB
XML: \Extended_ROM\Carrier3.xml
etc...
;end of Autoconfig_carrier.txt
;with no rst/reset tag
Autoconfig.txt
Code:
;#############
;##Autoconfig.txt
;#############
[Operator2]
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Operator1.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Operator1_2.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Operator1_3.CAB
RST: Reset

[Operator2]
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Operator2.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Operator2_2.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Operator2_3.CAB
RST: Reset

;or ur standar Autoconfig.txt

or another way is copy & Rename Autorun.exe to AutorunCarrier.exe and patch/hacked the current AutorunCarrier.exe to execute Autoconfig_carrier.txt/AutoCarrier.txt not Autoconfig.txt ...modify a bit the Config.txt a bit to exec AutorunCarrier.exe then Autorun.exe... that way U'll hv a dinamic/dual Autorun/Carrier/Operator setting in first boot and running (if u create a shortcut offcourse)

well, just one second idea, never tested it...

Ok, I swaped this latest nbf rom you uploaded into my instaler and ran it, all nice.

I notice with this verrsion that IE freezes when loading default webpage.
So I installed Opera8.6 and it runs about 1.5X faster, nice. Also noticed you didn't load nicer skin for the psShutXp program.

Lastly I see you are using a progam called "Running Programs". I thought I was the only one who liked looking at the OSsystem view on running programs... BUt you still have to select it from the start menu..
NO MORE with this little proggy!
Try it you all will like it! I am pastig it in this post.
I also think you should keep the O2 program because it is actually smaller and fits better than that program that is giving you trouble, namely the "InClose" one.

thejunki, hang tight. Later this afternoon\evening, I should have an updated nk.nbf to upload. Along with it I will have a text file that will include instructions. If you are going to do an upgrade, you might as well wait for the latest .

Helmi, thanks again. I will definitely look into this. Since I haven't run it yet, when is the user able to select the carrier? Is this a built in function of the autoconfig or is there something else? I will play with it later and probably find the answers. The only other issue that I can see is the fact that I am not sure I can fit all of the necessary cabs for all of the Apache carriers into one ExtRom. I will definitely try though.

If anyone wants to help and knows how to use a cab app like WinCE Cab Manager, I would think that the first step would be to consolidate the ExtRom cabs. Perhaps down into a single cab if possible.

Maxx134, the running programs on the Today screen is part of O2 while the one in the start menu is just something included in 3.3 (I think). As far as InClose, this is to replace the HTC X button app that seemed to cause some errors and resetting. Plus it allows exclusions similar to SPB Pocked Plus in the fact that you can select certain programs to only minimize when X is tapped while most other apps are closed for good.

it will execute After first boot...with above setting should open a carrier seting first then Operator setting after that, with method two (u'll be able to change carrier spesific setting on the way, maybe unnecesarry)...

as far as I Know carrier/operator spesific setting cab should not bigger then 100kb, they are usually only contain CM_Entries.xml or Platformxxx.reg (60-75kb) plus cesetup.dll and checkfile.exe, well for Customize Operator Application/patch like opera or any app, maybe hv a bigger size... I'm only talk the basic/core part of Specific Carrier stuff...

Unfortunately Sprint doesn't think that way and has loaded the ExtRom with a bunch of crap. However, I think we can get it condensed down to something managable. What is the purpose of having carrier and operator? I assume this is more of an issue with GSM phones. Since there are only 5-6 carriers with the apache, I should only need the carrier select, correct?

Maxx134, what nicer skin for psShutXp? Guess I missed it somewhere.

Sure. Might take a little while unless I can find the cab or get the info from saridnour. I will work on it.
