Question about 3.3 downgrade to 2.2 (n00b)

I installed the 3.3 aku recently and I'm very knowledgeable about computers and the like and was just messing around with it. I then realized why I shouldn't have yesterday on a business trip when I realized the BT DUN profile was removed. I'm looking for a copy of the 2.2 AKU and also wondering if I should go with the original Sprint rom or the hacked one? Do they both contain the BT DUN profile? Thanks guys.

The 2.2 hacked rom includes DUN/BT - just go with that one, at least then you'll get some speed boost/bugfixes over the stock rom.

When I do use tethering, I use USB, so 3.3 is ok with me. The missing BT PAN (there will never be a BT DUN in AKU3.x versions) is a bummer, but it's not a show stopper for me.

I use it frequently on a non-intel based mac. If it was an intel, i'd be fine, i'd just run parallels and use that as my connection, alas, I'll have a new mac once leopard drops. I seem to have problems getting it to work as a usb modem on my xp machine as I continously get a Error 797: A connection to the remote computer could not be established because the modem was not found or was busy. I've disabled the data service on the phone immediately before i start wmodem, so i know it's not in use. Any help? If I could get it to work, I'd be forever grateful!

Nothing specific help-wise (did it work under 2.x? w/USB?)

I just installed the modem driver under XP and away it went (with Sprint - you on Sprint?)

Anywhoo with sprint just make a new DUN entry on XP, don't use the Sprint Dialer thingie, and have it dial #777, no username, no passwer, and it should work. You're not even getting to the point where your phone is detected as a modem on the PC, so you're kinda dead in the water.
