It won't slow it down unless you are running both at the same time.
as far as what makes it better; I think that is a matter of personal preference more than anything. I run opera because I feel it formats things better to the Qvga screen better, but I really don't have any empirical evidence to back that up.

There is a Firefox Mobile. Its called Minimo i use it and it is a lot faster than PIE. Its also pretty straight forward. Heres a link.

i've been using netfront 3.5 concept. so far i like it the best. i had problems with minimo crashing. i used pieplus with pie for a while, it was nice. up until the netfront concept i used opera though. just liked it better. never had a problem.

From what I've seen and used, I like the Opera Browser beteter... Even just loading the pages up it faster, also there's gonna be a new Mobile Opera Browser that will be released I think some time this month.... This Browser is gonna be the all in one we've all been looking for.... Check out the link for the new Browser and see it for yourself...
