yes I notice also now you end up right in a webpage with pic showing and option to open and option to download no prob.
I think sprint updated the sit and made it easier... Or it thinks we paid for service.. Either way now the default browser works just fine with no extra reghacks on that rom. This was when on 2.2Beta2 Rom with "PPCGeeksSprintMMS.Cab". Havent tested it yet on 3.3 |

I notice that the MMS figure is gone. I miss that.
Now when the pics are sent it attaches to Yahoo- Any way to get back the good ol' MMS? Any work arounds? Thanks -Steve

I may be wrong but If you have upgraded to AKU3.3 then you have a different Browser String. This is why such webpages such as Sprint Picture Mail and Yahoo look different. In the Reg forum I have a post that contains original browswer strings.

changed String = Nothing different
I've changed the user string and made sure everything was identical to the 2.2 rom and even the virgin Sprint rom found at ppc6700users.com. I don't think it's possible to view Sprint Picture mail with PIE from the phone. That's a major downfall.

I found a solution that will probably be unacceptable to most of you, but i was able to fully utilize the sprint MMS website on my phone. It does require software, but it is free. I used the version of Minimo found here (it's a nightly build so maybe unstable, but the old version didn't load for me and this did) : ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.or...8-MOZILLA_1_8/
Now this is not recommended by most of the forum and i sure wouldn't use it very often either. It uses about 9 meg of program memory when active and takes up a bit of space for the install too, but since i installed it to my 2gig sd card that wasn't an issue. It is also SLOW. However, this browser is very fully featured. Javascript buttons were actually clickable!!The MMS website acted JUST like i was at the computer. This actually made it a little difficult for the download as it saves the pic as a zip and i had to deal with all that, but the image loaded on the page and when selecting "view original" it showed the full size pic right away. I think i will keep this installed on my SD card as a last resort for all web pages. It does crash after loading a location on google maps, but it does load the page at first and hey that's java. On the otherhand if anyone has a more viable option i would MUCH rather that, just wanted to put this out there in the meantime =) Edit: i see some people mention it working with net front and opera. I didn't try netfront, but opera didn't work for me and I wanted to see if i could do this with free software. I hope PIE itself can be forced to work somehow though |

mms
I had no problems with pic mail and pie. In the past when I did the ie6 reg hack, I was locked out. But now, with the 3.3 aku, pie worked great. To download just touch and hold the pic, menu gives option for download. I did have to login to sprints picture mail site. The link took me there 1st, so I logged in, and it worked great. Didn't check if the text with the pic came thru though. I'll check and edit post accordingly.
E. EDIT: Well after further review, it seems to be weird. The picture shows on the bottom, but only part of it. If I tap around, it shows up, so does more test on the site, but no picture comments. I might try setting pie as blazer see what difference that makes. |
