cloning samsung a920 to sprint 6700?

I have been on mobile files but they show it just cloning a 6700 esn i want to clone my 920's esn to my 6700 for a weekend phone...as i am a college student and it would be convient to have a beater phone...any help with procedures or if i can even connect the 920 with bluetooth to the laptop?

sure but not from another phone. There are several threads and tutorials on people cloning one 6700 ESN to another but not from a different phone.

well thats what i want to do, but i want to instead of 6700 to 6700 i want to have a 920 to a 6700... you know what i mean?

I understand exactly what you mean, You want to take your ESN off the 920 and clone it to use on the 6700. But what you may need to understand is it is a deeper issue than just the ESN. On the carriers side, what about S/N, hardware type, what about when you call in for tech support and they pull your ESN and it (in their database) says it should be a 920 and yet you tell them you have a 6700? Do you see the other issues that arrise from trying to do that. Whereas if you go from one exact model to another exact model you get around a lot of those issues.

THX for the moral support but so is most file sharing and logging into unsecured WiFi. I may be like a few others that believe that illegal tactics are illegal if you use them for illegal purposes and not for personal purposes. I do feel that there is nothing wrong with educating yourself. Now if he clones and sell on ebay, that is another issue.

I see weedahoe so this would probably mess up the insurance going for the 6700 then too right? What are my options i guess is maybe a better question? Thanks I appreciate it to, my old 920 isnt going anywhere just as a backup phone and thats gonna be the rest of its life as i ran it over with a zero turn lawn mower, and it looks kinda ugly now

If you really want to keep VZW (A GSM carrier with SIM cards would be easier for you although maybe not practical) then you can always keep both your phones as you are wanting to do simply go to VZW website, log into My Acct -> My Phone -> Activate Phone -> Activate Equipment and change your phones there by doing an ESN swap and allow an over-the-air programming to take place. It takes only a few short minutes and keeps you in the "green zone".

Never messed with sprint samsungs (vzw samsungs are hit and miss) but sprint or any carriers LG's are a very esn repair (pc correct term). The before mentioned web site will tell you everything you need to do a esn repair on a lg if you can switch to an lg from you a920. The software you would need would be cdma universal also known as unicdma or even bitpim and a hex editor for most lg's if you can get an esn checksum calc. By the way this post is for knowledge only as esn changing is illegal in this country

One other queston does sprint use a-key's? If so you will need to rewrite the akey from your 6700 to the other phone.
