Need Help! PPC 6700

Early this moring my ppc 6700 would not make or receive calls, when someone call me it goes stright to my voice mail, and when i tried to call out it would say dailing and did disconect. I called sprint to ask if the something was wrong with the service and they said no. We rebooted it and still did not work. After I got off the phone I did a hard reset and then it started to work again. Can someone please let me know what they think what the problem was, so it would not happen again. Thank You!

Hey man

Same with your receiving calls and dormant internet post. I DEFINATELY recommend you take the handset into a Sprint Store for HP Test. Make sure you have all your information backed up before doing so. Having both of those problems does show you might be having some hardware issues. What ROM are you using on the handset? Are you in a non-EVDO coverage area? What part of the country are you in and do you go in and out of roaming at all?

yes I couldn't recieve or make any calls. Like I said I spoke to CS and they help me with reprograming my number back in the phone and it still didn't work. After I got off the phone with them, I wanted to try on more thing which was a hard reset and not it is back to normal, but I just don't know want happen the first time. I live in Syracuse,NY and we only 1x.

ahhh reprogramming may not fix that issue though.... it might be defective hardware... an HP test at a store will help... as far as receiving calls while on the internet if you're on 1x I believe you're on vision and not on EVDO which may cause you to not get your calls occasionally (Sprint says that you should be interrupted in a vision session for calls, but we've experienced otherwise)

some people say I should update my phone should I try that or is PPC 6700 already updated.
ROM "2.06.00WWE"
Radio "02/22/06"
PRL "20224"
PRI "1.06_003"

If I do need a update is it hard and how do I do it.

the main fix the manufacturer rom updates is for going into flight mode, adding the default voice services, etc..... I seriously doubt that it will fix your issue.

Yes it is worth a try. Go to the Sprint site or UTStarcom and find the downloads section. Download the latest Rom upgrade. You will lose everything that is on you phone now so you will have to reinstall after the upgrade. This will, however, update your radio and should provide you with "ring through EVDO".

I dont think its a good idea for you to start 2 threads talking about the same thing. Its redundant. To continue helping you, the new upgrade should update you to these values.
radio is "1.27.00"
extRom is 2.06.300 WWE
PRL is "20224"
PRI is "1.19_003"
http://www.utstar.com/pcd/Downloads.aspx
make sure ppc 6700 is in the download box and click on the AKU2.X Fix Application. also dl the newest active sync fom ms website just in case, dont know wat version you have currently.
for more customizations you will have to read the noob threads.
