MemMaid 1.72 (beta)

Read about it HERE (btw, that's a great PPC blog...so bookmark it and read it everyday!!)

Anyways, it's now WM5 supported, has a RAM reclaimer (sweet!) and gets your Opera/Netfront cache amongst other new things....

New Features:

* Support for Landscape/Portrait screen layouts on the fly.
* Reclaim Memory. It frees up memory used by currently running
programs, this can claim memory in terms of MB. (Results depends
on the programs running)
* New Memory Cleaning for:
1. Dangling Notifications
2. NetFront
3. Opera
4. Virtual Mobile Earth cache
5. Window Media DRM
6. \Temp
* New Menus for fast access to all dialogs. (Matches with WM5 user
interface)

Thanks for the post Malesta! I will be giving it a whirl and seeing how much fun it will be to reclaim those nasty little fragments of memory munchers. Memaid the new cowboy wrangler! Put them back in their allocated corral.

Okay first go around and I cleaned out 1mb of tar and grease! I love the fact that you can change the font size cache from it as well, no need for that particular reg hack!

Now I noticed that at the above site mentioned it was asking for $15 for the program. However, the beta seems to be running in full on my ppc. Did I miss something, or do the betas always come free?

Thanks Man. This is awesome. Also wondering, is this a freeware or is it $15.

its the beta and I assume it will expire in a certain amount of time. but I installed it, and it did in deed find left over registry entries from uninstalled programs. works like acharm. my only beef is it tells u in bytes how much is cleared and not in mb like the previous version.

So you are saying that you are too lazy to convert that information in your head?

Yeah, like WideAwake said, it's shareware ($15) but I bought my version like in 2002 and the code is still good so I think it's a wise investment--the QuickClean feature alone is worth it.
