Re: Pocket IE issue
OK, found this on another site. Seemed to do the trick.
Apparently most other browsers don't restore these defaults after uninstall, and PIE doesn't have a 'set as default' feature. If I get the time I'll make a cab of these settings, and post it here. BTW; These are the changes Opera makes, there may be others for different browsers. Thanks, Jim [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\DefaultIcon] (Default) iexplore.exe,-1003 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\Shell\Open\Command] (Default) iexplore.exe file: %1 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\xhtmlfile\DefaultIcon] (Default) iexplore.exe,-1003 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\xhtmlfile\Shell\Open\Command] (Default) iexplore.exe file: %1 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\gifimage\DefaultIcon] (Default) iexplore.exe,-1003 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\gifimage\Shell\Open\Command] (Default) iexplore.exe file: %1 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\icoimage\DefaultIcon] (Default) iexplore.exe,-1003 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\icoimage\Shell\Open\Command] (Default) iexplore.exe file: %1 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\DefaultIcon] (Default) iexplore.exe,-1003 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command] (Default) iexplore.exe %1 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\https\DefaultIcon] (Default) iexplore.exe,-1003 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\https\Shell\Open\Command] (Default) iexplore.exe %1 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ftp\DefaultIcon] (Default) iexplore.exe,-1003 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ftp\Shell\Open\Command] (Default) iexplore.exe %1 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\file\DefaultIcon] (Default) iexplore.exe,-1003 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\file\Shell\Open\Command] (Default) iexplore.exe %1 |

Re: Pocket IE issue
Just go and get a free app called Advanced Configuration Tool and there is a tab for all extentions and you can change the default app for whatever ext you want. No need for a cab.

Re: Pocket IE issue
So let me get this straight, in a TXT someone send you a link and it is an active link whereas you can 'click' on it and it normally would open up in IE. But now since you have installed Opera you can no longer do this as it gives you errors.
1) Did you install Opera Mobile or Mini? Version #? 2) Have you tried to uninstall Opera and see if that resolved the errors? 3) Were you able to change the default apps with the tool listed above and did the settings save? |
