Old xv6700 got crushed got another... This one is weird though. *help*
My old xv6700 was crushed in a motorcycle accident (it actually saved my right hip from sustaining a lot of damage from the car that hit me)
Unfortunately it wouldn't turn on anymore, just has a red light no matter what I do...
So we got "new" 6700, off of ebay (thats where I got the other). I immediately upgraded it to WM6 just like my other (to my surprise I had to use the newfangled kitchen instead of the straightforward install that was released in oct i think)
ANYWAY
This phone does the following and I can NOT figure it out:
THE BAD
High pitch squeel during calls.
it beeps when it goes in and out of signal, my old phone NEVER did this, its the same DO DO DOOO my old qualcomm phone made when verizon was Primeco.....
THis one EATS the battery! I thought it was the battery itself so I put my old battery in, nope still eats it, I'm charging the phone 3-4 times a day, COMPLETELY unnacceptable
I put acb power meter on, at idle it uses 30ma, i dont know what the ohter phone used
I went through and redid the rom with almost NO extras I only installed some games and Xbutton,
THE GOOD!
its so much faster switching from portrait to landscape, like.. INSTANT,my other phone was never that great.
Here are the specs
ROm Version 3.60.70 WWE
Rom Date 8/31/07
Radio 1.43.00 (just updated today hoping it would solve battery issue)
protocall SNAZ-40306
Ext Rom - 3.14.208 WWE
hardware 0041
PRL 50960
PRI 1.14_002
Intel PXA270
416 MHZ
64mb ram
128mb Flash
i have the overclock utility installed but not activated
here are my current installed additions:
Microsoft Voice Command
Games- galaga and ms pacman
BT Audio (bluetooth is off though)
psShutXP
Screen Capture
WiFiFoFum (wifi is off_)
acb powermeter
wm5 storage
wm5 new menu
X button 1.5
even if i soft reset the phone, the only thing turning on is the psshutxp and I know that doesnt drain things
The only difference I can see between the old phone and new phone is the fact that on the old phone I didnt use this kitchen where you choose your own options, I used the first hacked release of wm6 for the 6700 and I'd GLADLY go back to that if I can find it to give it a shot
Any ideas?
