I have done a little more searching on this issue and have found that it is a common issue. People call it a few different things, "Sleep of Death" and "Wont wake from standby". Its seems that people where having this issue in different WM6 roms. I have not yet found a cure for this issue. I thought I would update the thread and maybe it will help someone help me. Like I said before the rom works almost flawless until I add a vpn connection. Does anyone know how to set up Activesync to only sync manually I could not find this option. Also I am running Radio 1.10 do you think it would help at all to update the raido? If so could you point me in the direction of a good upgrade and instructions. Thank you.

VPN Sleep of Death
I have the same issue. I flashed over to the latest kitchen ROM (which rocks!) setup gmail, outlook and my apps. Everything worked like a champ for 2+ weeks both gmail and outlook syncing fine every two hours. Then they decided to remove the OMA and put our Exchange server behind our VPN. No problem I thought, so I changed the settings for Outlook/Activesync to use the VPN. Tested it all out, and worked like a champ. Ever since then my phone is hanging, no response, won't take a call and requires a soft reset to fix. Once I disable the auto sync of Outlook and make it manual the phone is back to being rock solid. Another indication that it is the VPN is that the other night I manually checked my gmail and Outlook mail it all synced up fine, but I did not manually close the data connection and kill all processes, just powered off the phone. Next time I tried to use the phone (30 min past when it's alarm was supposed to wake me up) it was hung.
I am willing to run any debug code necessary to help resolve this issue as I am loving WM6 and the Kitchen. |

Same here. I can do it manually but once I set it to update automatically it starts freezing up when it trys to sync. Hopefully some one will figure this out. I am really thinking about moving up to the xv6800 I just dont like to spend the $400 when I have perfectly good phone now. Boy a xv6800 would be nice.
