I'm not sure of brands, but i think the 6700 needs one with 3 black rings instead of the normal 2 for stereo headphones This is because the plug is designed for stereo sound and a microphone input. The one you bought from radioshack probably is not designed for a plug with 4 conductors. With this info you should be able to find some that work by searching on the internet, but perhaps someone else will be more helpful with a specific model that they know works.

It does not work.

Go to a cingular store, get a ROKR 3.5mm adapter, it is the correct one. should cost at most $6

This one works fine:

http://www.seidioonline.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=300

it's what I use. If you get one without a mic then you'll have no mic, so the built in mic kinda helps

that's the weird thing, the radioshack adapter does have 4 conductors. I don't need a mic because I use a bluetooth headset. I want this so I can use a cassette adaptor in my car.

lots of blank stares from the cingular stores I went to in my area today. I even brought a print out of the item from their website!

Actually, I bought one from Radio Shack 3 months ago, and it works flawlessly. I can listen to the audio output of a movie through my fm modulator. I'm all set for long trips!
