How to use A2DP bluetooth headsets.
2 Attachment(s)
Making A2DP work on your PPC-6700 is very simple. All you have to have is the file attached, ur PPC-6700, and a A2DP compatible headset.
1. Download the attached .zip file on your ppc. Either directly or activsync it over and extract files. 2. Install the Tornado_A2DP.CAB and then install the Tor_A2DP_cert.CAB 3. Soft reset the device. 4. Pair your headset with the phone, making sure you select the set as wireless stereo option, and your DONE! That simple now you can listen to your favorite music with stereo quality! |
Installed the A2DP but don't have a wireless headset yet. I really don't know if I set it up correctly and I don't see the wireless stereo option.
|
You have to have a A2DP compatible headset paired with the phone to get the option. When you have it paired in the bluetooth menu, you can tap and hold to get the option to set a wirless stereo.

Thanks. Can someone recommend a good and cheap headset.
|
The Motorola HT820 are nice. And I have found some of these for around $70-$75 which isnt that bad, Im sure there cheaper ones out there though. Around how much you trying to spend? Heres a link a HT820 set for $72.95. Motorola HT820 Headset and you can check out this for more info on them HT820 Features
|
$70 is not a bad price but still alittle pricy for me. Guess I'll stick with the stock headset for now and wait for the price to drop some more.
|
hey, I can understand that! If ur like me u got bills to pay!
|
Regular phone headsets don't work with this, correct? It always thinks I wanna make a speed dial call.
|
nope doesnt work on regular headsets but u can check out other thread that says for regular headsets.
|
Just saw it and that works great, Thanks again.
|
no probelm!

OH this is the updated version of the BTToggle program that requires the newest version of .net framework. Left that out in the instructions, Thanks for pointing that out. You can download the .net framework version 2 from HERE. Just install the .cab included in the .zip to your main memory and all should work now. Hope this helps! :thumbleft:

WBT212
Hi, I have a Jensen WBT212 whis is pretty cool looking, big around-the-neck style of headphones, and I heard they have excellent bass sound. however I cannot make it pair to the VX6700. Any clues? I was going to install this a2dp thing, but one of the cabs you refer to in your instructions is not being extracted from the zip.
Did anybody have this problem? Thanks, G |
Nall no ones had that probelm, but give me a min and I will update the first post with a new file to download. k?

first post has been updated, give it a whirl now :thumbleft:

Ok, cool we are making progress!! Now, it pairs and I can set use as stereo headset!! yeah baby!
I played a song and it sounds loud and nice but skipping all the time. And although media player sounds loud, the phone thing is almost impossible to hear. Help, I am so close!!! Thanks!!! G |
Same Jensen Skipping problems
I did everything the way it was laid out and when I use WMP the sound stutters. Any ideas?

A2DP headset skipping
Hi,
I just got my logitech bluetooth A2DP compliant headphones to work with my ppc6700, thanks to this guide. While playing my music though, it skips during the first 20 or 30 seconds of each song. I am playing off my miniSD. Anyone else have this problem or suggestions on how to fix it? |
try playing from the main memory. hope this helps.
~mike |
If you are using WMP, try another player. :D
|
WMP skipping
i tried a different media player (pocket music) and it works a lot better. I also discovered that turning wifi on and off has a significant impact on the performance of the headphones. With wifi off, pocket music functions flawlessly and windows media player is usuable. With wifi on, however, pocket music skips every once in a (great) while and windows media stutters a lot. I am still playing off the miniSD. I was real happy that even the forward/back media control buttons my headphones have work too. Overall, its a quirky setup, but it works. I hear that HTC or someone did not include this A2DP hack in its latest upgrade because they were unhappy with its stability. I also heard that official support for A2DP headsets were coming before the end of the year. hopefully.

Ok...I know this a2dp thing must be great to have and works perfectly with the PPC6700. But what about the Treo 700wx? I can't seem to get this to work with it. Anyone been able to figure it out? My BT headphones pair up and they come up as headphones with "Wireless Stereo" as the service but can't seem to get sound to come out of them...

Stutters with wifi on and poor sound quality
Installed this on 6700 and using the Motorola 820. It works. It's stereo. controls function, but: with wifi on the sound stutters with WMP and worse with Slingplayer. If I turn off wifi and use cellular to connect to slingbox - no stutters, WMP still does occasionally, probably an SD issue.
I gotta ask, though. Is this as good as the sound quality gets? Cause I'll sell the headset tomorrow if it is. Then, I won't have to waste any more time curing those stutters. Don't get me wrong. There is rich bass and even some imaging. The high end is untolerable. MP3's are bad enough on their own. The highs sound like an MP3 of a worn out analog cassette where the high end fades in and out incessantly. Admittedly I'm a bit of an audio snob. But do you guys really listen to it like that? The sound is better than the narrow bandwith sound you get from the phone app. Hifi, though, it is not. Not even midfi. It could be louder, too. I would greatly appreciate any help. If something is amiss or I'm doing something wrong, I'd like to try to correct it before I ditch the stereo BT concept altogether. |

I found a nice new hack to help with A2DP stuttering:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=262119 It is a registry editor that grants the BTa2dp stack highest processing priority. I still get some pauses when I run on miniSD, but off of main memory my stuttering and pauses are gone. But I still have issues if anything else is running but TCPMP. /Me needs a 3200 mAh battery and an overclock program :( EDIT: Turns out downloading the trial of Pocket Hack master and overclocking my system to 520 MHz got rid of the last of my stutters and pauses. I hope the 6800 has a beefier processor on it. Jammrock |
can somebody please tell me where this attachment is. Thank You in advance.
Ok never mind after i registered it showed up. |
ok so i installed the hack, it shows my headset (motorolla 820) and it has the wireless stereo option, but it still wont play music through the headphones. Thanks
