Unhappy Dreaded 85010014 Activesync error

Hello all,

I don't know what happened, but I can no longer sync my data to my work computer using ActiveSync 4.5. It was working one day, not working the next. The one thing I did that may have contributed to this issue was syncing to my personal laptop.

After a LOT of reading, I have done all suggested fixes with the exception of uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook (my company is unwilling to uninstall/reinstall Outlook on my computer). None of the fixes I tried worked, and I've wasted a day and a half trying to correct this problem .

All that said, I really need to get my contacts, calendar and task information onto my phone. Is there anyway to do this manually w/o ActiveSync; short of entering in all 350 items by hand? Can I import the .pst files to the phone? Please help me, as I'm at the end of my rope here .

BTW, here are some specs on my phone and computer:
1. Using Rob Mayer's clean/no-junk WM6 B7 5.2.1908 OS.
2. Windows XP Professional SP2
3. Microsoft Office 2003 SP1

Thank you VERY much in advance for any help with this issue!

I would try the following:

1) Open Active Sync on your PC at work and delete any partnerships
2) Open Active Sync on your phone and delete any partnerships
3) Connect your phone to your work PC and see if it will prompt you to set up a new partnership
4) If all else fails, perform the first two steps again, then uninstall/install Active Sync 4.5

One other thing...you should seriously consider flashing to the latest ROM version. Download the kitchen from the Upgrade forum and follow the instructions. It's incredibly easy...just point, click, and execute.

Thanks Brightblade!

Unfortunately, I did all the above but to no avail. I also reflashed the ROM, which was already up-to-date (flashed back in December).

Any other ideas?

Sorry, I thought Rob's ROM was older.

Here's what I found with a Yahoo search:

1st Find:
From: http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/acti...x-85010014.htm

1. If you are seeing the error 85010014 (a general error) then try uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook. The error in ActiveSync is actually from the Outlook APIs. You will need to reconfigure Outlook unless you backup your settings. To uninstall Outlook click on the Control Panel -> Add or remove Programs -> Office 2003 and chose to modify the installation by adding or removing components. Uncheck Outlook and updated it to remove Outlook from Office 2003. Then click on Office 2003 again and re-check the option to install Outlook to add it back to Office 2003. You may need your Office 2003 CD. Then reboot.

2. If you are seeing the error 85010014 (a general error) and are using Exchange 2003 and folder redirection with Outlook, you may have to turn folder redirection off to sync or upgrade to ActiveSync 4.2.

3. If you are seeing the error 85010014 and you are using Outlook in off-line mode with Exchange, you must be online with Exchange to sync.

4. If you are seeing the error 85010014 and you have Outlook script blocking setup with your antivirus or anti-spyware program enabled you must configure your antivirus or anti-spyware program to allow ActiveSync to send scripts to Outlook.

5. If you are using an unregistered or illegal copy of Outlook you may see the 85010014 error.

6. Check to make sure that you have write access to the folder C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync where the [username] is your user name used to login to Windows.
