Trying to kill SPRINT in ppc and give myself FREEDOM !HELP!

HI really I need help, i recently bought from a friend a ppc6700 who had it with sprint its perfectly legal, I’ve already unlocked the ExtRom, erased the sprint extras and upgraded the wm6 Helmis now I have a couple of questions
1) Why if I already erased the sprint files from my ExtRom does my phone still say Sprint PCS?
2) When I configured the carrier customization on HELMIS,what exactly does this do?
3) Why when I tried to configure the helmis on the title bar, if I selected another carrier other than sprint the device rejected the ROM upgrade?
4) Is it still locked?
5) If so how do I unlock this?
6) What else would and do i need to do, so that when i take it to my other CDMA carrier they'll be able to connect the PPC6700 completely calls txt messages and internet access?
If possible please email me at

It's still a Sprint Phone, and will always be a sprint phone. Reflashing the firmware doesn't change the network it operates on.

With it of the logo of sprint if I am not bad it is a line in the record of windows that it is necessary to modify (I believe that in the forum a solution exists).

With the different thing, it implies cloning telephone (since the operators I have understood, they do not activate telephones of other operators). I have a manual to make myself this, but this one in Spanish, stop to see if I can translate it and you sending, or better write to me to migue052078@gmail.com to speak about this (since according to the law it is "Illegal", even if it is for personal not commercial use).

Some carriers (Verizon) are now allowing you to use phones from other carriers. Thier have been articles about that in the past couple of months. Do a little searching. I saw one person who emailed verizon and they told him he could use the phone. I never saw the final reslut.

Medic...here was the final result from the thread you are talking about.

From drellisdee:
"I'm a vzw agent using an originally qwest branded 6700. The system will pull the device info using esn lookup and display htc-6700 and not even tech support can tell you arent using a native xv6700 if you dont tell them. It seems any 6700 that doesn't have an entry in the negative esn files can be used and will be auto accepted on vzw. I have personally converted over and sold several sprint, qwest, and cell south ones all of which were accepted by vzw's esn database as it seems the allowed vzw 6700 esn range isn't just for native esn's like they are doing with the 6800. Go to a vzw agent for a new act who will gladly work for a CPE coam or if you just need an esn change call cust service give them the esn and tell them its a 6700 pocket pc and it should go right in. If vzw is A side of tower in your area after the esn change is done or added to a new account a *22800 should ota program without having to load a prl or manually nam program (*22801 if vzw is b side which altell is in my area.) This will get it working with voice and sms. To get data working you have to edit the mip profile and write a valid vzw dmu key even after flashing a stock or custom vzw rom as those settings remain set to sprint even after a vzw rom is flashed. Had to figure that one out on my own as tier 2 vzw tech support couldn't get data working."

so I wonder if the "sprint phone" activated on a verizon network would activate the GPS signaling found on the fieldtrial program on all verizon phones... (which do not on sprint...)

Just a thought
