Question About idle data connections...

'Hope someone can help. I understand the data connection will disconnect after some time based on the values in HKLM/Comm/ConnMgr/Planner/Settings, but I'd like all of my connections to require manual disconnect (in case I d/l overnight, or am just not "actively" using the connection). However, I don't want a data connection to be on ALWAYS, as in the reg hack given on the Registry Hacks page. Any solutions?

I guess what I'm tryin' to ask is...

Is there a way to disable data connection timeouts via a reg hack? I know there's the "GPRS Always On" hack, but I don't need the connection to stay on all of the time. I'd like to be able to manually connect and disconnect, and from what I understand, that hack nullifies the Data disconnect hack (DWORD - Flags2 (16)). I have GPRS Keep Alive, but that prog pings in intervals to keep the connection alive, I'd like to just disable the timeout all together.

I don't know what you are looking for - my EVDO never automatically disconnects, unless it is invoked by a MMS message. Standard behavior is manual connect and disconnect, if I leave my phone with EVDO on when I fall asleep it is still on when I wake up.

Hmm, maybe...

I'm sorry. I should've mentioned when tethering, specifically. Perhaps it was because of the mix-up @ Sprint w/ my PowerVision. At the time I could only connect @ 1xRTT, but now I can connect @ EDVO. 'Gonna leave it on overnight tonight and check results.
Thanks for your RE:

Oh! Might've found the prob. I'd had Redial options turned off, where the option to never drop an idle connection was. ::woops:: 'Still gonna check overnight.
