Brick?

In trying to flash wm6 rom for my audiovox 6700, I'm now at the point that device is in bootstrap mode (v1.04) and, when cradled, device will NOT connect via ActiveSync anymore (and no charge light on device). Is there anything I can do to get device out of bootstrap mode, so as to enable it to connect via ActiveSync (hopefully)?

do you mean bootloader mode....

Look around there is some program or programs that you need to force that thing out of bootloader.

Also you should not have it cradled when you try to update rom. You need to have it connected directly to the computer with a usb cable. Also you dont use activesync to update there is a stand alone program that does that with the kitchen.

Hope this helps. It doesnt sound like its bricked.

Heres the link to get it out of bootloader if a soft or hard reset doesnt fix the problem

You can have it cradled. When we say directly connected, what we mean is a USB connection vs WIFI/BlueTooth/Wireless

The phone does not charge when in Bootloader mode. This is normal.

The phone will not connect via Activesync when in Bootloader mode. This is normal.

Most of the time, a simple reset (push the reset button) will get you out of bootloader mode. Sometimes you have to use the mtty utility.

ohhh
ah I never have it on the cradle anyway only to charge it. I always figured that you couldnt have it on the cradle just more connections that could mess up while burning new rom.

It makes no difference as long as it has a USB connection.
