XV6700 on Alltel - HELP!

Heh, well like I said man, glad I could help.

As far as the Alltel ROM goes, your right there is little difference between VZ and Alltel in this kitchen I don't think. However, I do not like when things do not work...

With that being said, I know you've already flashed and all, but if you happen to try it again, I have an idea.

This time, choose the standard RUU, but before you build your ROM, go ahead and open the standard RUU folder, and see if there is a ROM in there. Build your ROM, and manually cut/paste it from the standard RUU folder, to the NoID RUU folder, then manually start the NoID RUU.

Whenever the ROM is built, and the kitchen tells you to place your phone in bootloader, close that window and do it yourself.

I don't really have a good reason, but I'd like to try it and see if it works

Oh and one last thing, the drop down box in the kitchen is not the Radio ROM, I highly reccomend you get the original Alltel ROM, and extract the Radio ROM 1.15 out and use it. My XV6700 originally had 1.10 on it which worked fine, I upgraded to 1.43 and had alot of problems, dropped data calls mostly, downgraded to 1.41, 1.27, and eventally all the way back to Alltel's latest 1.15. 1.15 is definetly the most stable for Alltel.

I will keep that in mind next time I flash, which will probably be in the next week. This is my first ppc, and have had it since Jan 3, and have flashed it over 10 times. I understand what you want me to do there. Makes sense. When, not if, I reflash, I will try that and post back. It could be up to 2 weeks though.

I have a vx6700 from verizon and i Followed the "hack" (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=12001) from the first post. The people from Alltel said that they couldn't add it to the system because it has the verizon software yet. The ##000000 didnt' work so they wouldn't activate it until it has alltel software on it. So I'm on a mission to convert it totally over to Alltel so they can't complain. It looks like you have done this. My question is what tools did you use and is there a place where to get the approperate alltel flash? I went to http://www.utstar.com/pcd/uts_downloads.aspx?rErr=1 and downloaded the alltel flash by the way it looks. When I run the file I get error 120: Country ID Error. It looks like its version 1.15.00 from alltel which appears to be the good one. The verizon rom I have on the xv6700 is ROM version 1.05.00 WWE ROM date 10/11/05 I don't know if that helps or anything but thats what I know!

I really don't care to purchase a new smartphone if I can possibly get this one to work with alltel service!
