I apologize if there was a lack of clarity, I should of probably phrased that as after running spb backup to create a current backup. I guess that may of sounded as if restoring something old/outdated I guess (granted most of us who do beta test software know better than to contaminate a test).

So, again any ideas on what may of done this to the today screen (ie have you ever seen such happen before at all? to further note the clock part at the top does still show but nothing under it at all).

Edited: battery icon at lower right does show.

Well I havent seen this, no one has posted a similar issue. You tried installing the backup u was making before it happened? If so and it doesnt work, use resco to export HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Today for me and PM it to me.

Nothing under it? Again Im lost. It should display as normal, as it where before the install. Battery Icon in the lower right of the today screen shows? Then you must have removed the .cab that removes that after a hard reset. Sprint put a .cab with a long name that had something like RemoveHTCBatteryIcon or something like that. Thats what removes that icon, but the other rotation and CommManager ones should be gone.

No I didn't remove the cabs I simply wanted that icon vs theirs in the top next to the volume one (after the 2nd hard reset I did a soft reset to prevent sprint's junkware and used total commander to install specific actual necessary ones vs having all that garbage in there).

I'll try restoring that spb backup i just made who knows might get lucky, didn't think such would really be a viable idea but guess it's worth a try.

Forgive the n00b moment, but where can I find the resco application? (or is this something included in the aku 2.2?)

EDIT: After taking out a bunch of apps from the today screen and soft resetting I have gotten a few of them back into it now. I'm going to go through and try and see which one is causing it all to disappear (looks like there is some kind of issue with the today screen and some app plugins).

Its not free, but what we need it for, the trial will do. Which you can get here...

You can remove that .cab I was speaking of earlier and it will leave the battey icon in the lower left hand corner.

After some further messing with the today settings as I mentioned above and a soft reset also i managed to get them to show up again (this is also after doing the restore of the spb backup that was made).

Not sure what in the heck happened (everything was fine until right after spb backup did it's software initiated soft reset, which as ya know it auto does after creating a backup).

EDIT: After several times I've narrowed down steps I'm having to do to reproduce this problem, I'll get resco in and and export that key in a few moments.

What's happening is that after a soft reset I'm losing the today screen except the date portion, then I have to remove everything out of it that involves any 3rd party apps (eg only date, owner, messaging, etc are in that is in the base OS), things like skype, pocket MSN,spb backup won't work to be in the today screen.

Once removing the above if I soft reset the today screen comes back properly but it just won't remain such if i put in the additional apps into it again.

The Old Phone and Roaring Guitar ringers do not work. Says the ring tone file is corrupted or unavailable.

More apps that I installed that work fine:

Opera Web Browser
Arcsoft MMS application
Skype
Pocketmind CrazyBubbles
And that Treo 700w Today Screen speed dial application.

Of course still get the "File format no supported" the MMS app when trying to send videos. Pictures still send fine.

Working on the MMS not sure if I will be able to fix tho. As far as those two ringers. hehe I removed them to save that little bit of space, and I dont use those and find those the worst ones on it. I just forgot to remove registry referrences. Will fix that in the next build. Keep up the good work!

Yeah I don't use them either, just wanted to point it out...hehe

So far I'm really liking it. Don't care too much for the MMS problem since I don't send that many vids, mainly pics.

Oh, I love that Crossbow theme!
