No doubt you're simply seeing the BT issue that I mentioned to you previously in this same thread (also linked to microsoft's knowledgebase on what their fix is). In WM5 if a bluetooth connection gets dropped for any reason it won't auto restablish properly until a soft reset is performed.

I've had this same issue with both tethering through the 6700 as well as using my platronics bluetooth headset on it (where if the headset were to disconnect mid call it will auto bounce the call to phone of course).

wicked and I remember that post now ;) I will have a more detailed lookcy later. Lot going on right now, christmas, anniversary, and 2 birthdays. :P But I can't get it to activate via the headset for nothing, maybe that will help. BTW I don't remember having issues tethering just voice command. odd.... :?

No problem on my end. Navagation works fine and since I sometimes switch back and forth between my treo 700wx and my PPC6700, I really notice that my PPC6700 is a lot faster. Especially since I turn off the animation in WM5. Infact I sorta like using the PPC6700 more now becasue it's as snappy as the Tro but with more screen area. No problem with the any of the software listed above.

so I'll be on the road off and on for two weeks, so any new betas before the 6th I'll most likely miss.

o.k. sorry it took so long for me to reply back, but between my kids, work and the fiance', i haven't had time for the ppc... but last night i hard reset, installed the beta 1.0 & hard reset again. all seems well. the only thing i installed so far was pdanet.

everything is running smoothly. gonna remove the junkware and start installing my normal programs... i'll report back to u guys shortly.

Thats exactly what happens when i copy my Voice Command folder to my pc, upx all the dlls, then copy it back to my 6700. Maybe its more than a compression issue. But it doesnt happen when i don't UPX the files. I am using a plantronics 510. The only good side effect is if you put on some music, your audio should be routed to your headset. This was supposed to be "fixed" with MSVC 1.6.

Guess M$ needs to do some more testing ;-)

UPDATE:

Currently i am still not having any difficulties with the new ROM. Drove from NJ to VA and Jane guided me the whole way. Used my BT headset to voicedial when i got bored, still no issues.

Today plugins are still showing up normally after many soft resets.

Made a backup after a clean install using spb backup. I then deleted everything and retored the backup.....flawless!

Sent a massive amount of text messages yesterday (christmas shoutouts) using the palm sms program. Sent a few pic messages as well with no issues. Listened to some music, played some videos....everything seems to be working perfectly.

The 6700 reacts much faster than normal after installing the new ROM. Can't wait for the next beta!

Thanks so much! My 6700 runs like a champ now! I have not seen anything that would indicate that there is a bug with the new AKU or the custom ROM. I have sent SMS messages and e-mail (using Exchange push), made many calls, and even played a game or two of Pac Man! The Bluetooth modem worked great with my laptop too (86k @ 1X).

Some of the posted registry tweaks that are posted and included with SKtools.
I did notice that the phone run about 20% faster (response with file browsing and screen response) after the initial upgrade and tack on another 20% after I edited the registry with the posted tweaks.

The only bad thing to come out of this is my initial BT headset response. After a reset or a period of non-use, my headset is slow to respond. It would pick up before the call would ring on an outgoing call prior to the upgrade. Now it will not pick up until the call connects and the other line starts to ring for a second time. Not a big deal at all but just something that I thought that I should mention. Overall, I LOVE IT!! Can't wait for the next one!

My suggestions:

1.) A collection of registry tweaks.
2.) .NET? Not a show stopper for me but I see a few folks asking for it.
3.) My Sprint logo.. :wink: In my neck of the woods, Alltel is the debil! :twisted:
4.) The Palm SMS add-in? I'm about to try it for the first time but it seems something that everyone would like to see. Shame on MS for leaving it out in the first place! :?
