xv6700 rubber d-pad pushed in, working poorly, please help

This morning when I woke up, I started using my phone and the D-pad seems to be stuck in the pushed in position as if you were trying to select something. I have no idea how it happened. Does anyone know how I could fix this? Has it happened to any of you?

Thanks for any help.

I have had issues with the dpad being really loose and VZ took it back without any questions. it seems like it is a known problem. I do not even have insurance

Actually i have done this 3 times just for this. i am on my 11th phone. this or that being too loose or the buttons not responding. they have been so understanding. But they have been trying to push me into a 6800 or another phone. But i can not leave my beloved 6700 even if it treats me bad from time to time

I phsysically removed my dpad's internals and placed a double stick pad under the joystick. Really don't use it, but would like to know if anyone has found a replacement source.

thanks,

-CC

does anyone know a way for me to disable the dpad, mine is smashed in as well, and i don't want to relpace. I can, but as I never use the dpad or front face buttons i'd rather just disable them. let me know if anyone knows of a program or reg hack to disable them. Thanks

I remember someone else asking about a program like this and there was one suggested although I cannot remember it. I think it was button magic but dont hold me to it.
