How to Disable incoming Text Messages

By Mistaken i have registered my phone number with one of the website, who provided ringtones by that time. So now i am keep getting messages that is costing more dollars to my bill because i have no subscription for text messaging. Some times i am even receiving international text message. It's like $20 to $50 per month. I am in the process of negotiating with Sprint to get the service

Question: Is there any possibility that we can stop incoming text messages by any chance. Like i knew blocking calls from specific number. So i wanted to completely disable the messaging service on PPC 6700

Any help would be appreciated

If you login to your Sprint online account management and go to
http://messaging.sprintpcs.com/textmessaging/settings

the second radio box says "BLOCK ALL messages EXCEPT those in this list. Maximum of 50 entries."

So...select the box and voila.

go back to that website and unregister? There must be some way to shut it off.
If all else fails shut down that phone number and get a new one.

But sprint should be able to tell you how to shut it off.

Not sure if there is a way to block it but if you don't open the text message, you wont get charged. Say you get the notification that you got a text message, you can just hit dismiss and it will clear the notification.

Is it possible you're getting spammed at your PCS email address? I know I was when I first signed up and got texts all the time. Turned off all notifications for them now.

nmeister: I have different addresss, so i can't control because they might change in future. But i set to BLOCK all the messages that wouldn't work, may be i give each id to block and see how this is gonna work and let you know.

allanak: How do you turn off all your notifications...?

Under PCS Mail (link right below the text messaging on the sprint manage your account page), there's a page somewhere that says Notifications and there is an option to notify your cellphone.
