Exclamation filing insurance claim, should i downgrade to 2m5 before sending?

FIRST THING, SORRY FOR THE TYPO, I MENT WM5 lol!!!

I'm going to need to get a replacement phone, should I downgrade back to WM5 or just leave it as it is and send it in?

Also if I do have to downgrade back, do I just hard reset OR reinstall wm5? and how easy is it?

Let me know, thanks guys!

I would say you should because they refurbish the phone's you send in and you flashing the ROM to wm6 void's the warranty.

I had to have two replacement 6700's and it's easy to flash back (assuming you don't have vista) just go to utstarcom's website and download the facotry ROM.

Always reflash to a stock rom. Always. All of it - OS, extended, and radio back to stock.

I agree. I mean, lots of people will say not to bother, and they're probably right. It could be a million to one chance that they catch it. But since it only takes a few minutes to flash it, why not be safe.

Here is another solid reason to always flash back....

Your data....

Anything less than flashing the ROM leaves any data on the device potentially recoverable.

Keep your private life private, clear your ROM by flashing it and be confident in knowing nobody may try to look at your msgs or calls.

First you check that you're flashing a ROM designed for your carrier.

Then you get the NoID RUU and try again.

I assume you're on Bell Mobility or Verizon. If you're on Sprint, then 3.3 isn't the right rom to flash.
