Possible Hardware Failure with Radio

Phone: Sprint PPC-6700

I am trying to figure out if my radio and/or phone is going bad.

Issues:

1. During calls, I will get randomly disconnected while reception is at full strength. It occurs in almost every call, every day.
2. Intermittently, the phone will take minutes trying to dial, or it will cancel the call and display call cannot be completed.
3. EVDO data will transmit and then stop and switch to one. I assume that it thinks the reception is bad in EVDO mode. I watch the signal strength and it does go down before switching.

Thoughts and corrections:

My phone was running WM6, the first build when this started occurring. It worked great one WM6, so it just starting happening one day. I think it started about a month after WM6 was flashed. I know the radio shouldn't do this where I live because I have full strength as I used the phone for months before this problem started.

So I flashed my radio with 1.43, it seemed to help a little, but the problems remained. I know WM6 has nothing to do with this, but I decided to flash my phone back with the latest OEM rom, the radio reverted back to 1.27. It did not change anything. I did upgrade back to WM6 build 18508.0.7.0

In the debug for the radio, when its having problems, it will keep searching the channels.

I was wondering if anyone has had these problems, or if my radio is going bad?

I have searched these forums and have checked settings with the ##codes, but they are all set with oem settings. My phone is over two years old, which shouldn't matter, but this radio problem is pissing me off as I can't communicate with anyone.

I always cycle the radio to get it back to EVDO mode, or remove the battery. I have replaced the usb mini port because one pin broke, but I need to fix this problem.

Is there any settings I can modify or something else I can try?

Thanks and sorry for the lengthy thread, I am just trying to be clear.

Angry RE:Possible Hardware Failure with Radio

This has been hapenning to me as well, I have WM6 with radio 1.43. I experience
1. Intermittently, the phone will take minutes trying to dial, or it will cancel the call and display call cannot be completed.
2. EVDO data will transmit and then stop and switch to one. I assume that it thinks the reception is bad in EVDO mode. I watch the signal strength and it does go down before switching.
I'm considering flashing my radio back to version 1.41, which was the last radio i had without problems.

I just replaced my phone yesterday and received a refurbished unit with a bad radio.

I didn't really look at it until I was back in the car stuck in traffic headed back to work, and it wouldn't acquire signal. Makes me wonder if the lazy/gigantic/hippo/ridiculously huge/shaved gorrila lady at the counter even freakin tested it before handing it over.

I called tech support right away and they said take the battery out. I suppose it allowed something they did to take effect as it then picked up full signal. Unfortunately it was only a temporary fix as I now have zero signal all day.

Traffic sucks here right now, my time is valuable and I could do without another false-fix. Maybe I'll just throw it in a drawer packed with magnets until I find some time to bring it back in. Maybe I'll get a Mogul next time around.

I just found out that the camera light doesn't work either... Wonder if this problem is in any way related.
