VPN mappings

Loaded up a kitchen-ed WM6 rom, setup VPN to win xp pro, phone connects to the pc perfectly(network control panel shows connection present, and username).

But I can't map folders over the VPN under the regular file explorer or Resco 2007.

Over wifi, I can get the shares mapped no problems, so the setup on XP seems fine. Can even do Remote Desktop without a hitch over wifi.

I found a few VPN threads, but couldn't find any resolutions. Same with the Internet at large, lots of problems, no verified solutions. Fiddled with it for awhile and even managed to get Resco to spit out the name of every network device connected to the local Sprint network (Long list), but no solution.

Any ideas?
