ok....so I finally got tcpmp working and it opens as default....(i went to the orb setup web page...and clicked on 'tools' and proceeded to try making all the players listed there the default till I got one that worked...choosing winamp was the choice that ended up allowin orb to automatically open tcpmp....apparently I had set tcpmp to be the default on my phone but the orb web app wanted to open wmp since that is whatg I had it set to open.) now, I did all this without having to do the regedit.
is there a benefit of still doing the regedit? I have noticed that when I click to open a song that I want to play (acting as if it were a file I am asking to download versus stream) it gives me a message telling me that the file already exists and asking if I want to replace it....kinda weird to be getting for files I want to stream that definitely don't exist on my phone. so I click on yes and the file preceeds to play. anyone ever see this? or did u notsee it bc u all did the hack you think?
tcpmp is nice....allowing for more file extensions usage, rewind and fast forward....its great. what do u all have set as your speed on your computer? I know it will vary based on homecomputer processor and bandwidth....I have a fast connection (6mb dl....745kb up) and a decent comp...but I am curious what you all recommend (i am in a non evdo area...at home I use wifi)...I have been using 160kb....though I get test speeds much higher on my phone bc I was getting some buffering every other song or so. I understand that not being in an evdo area is part of the problem but there are times it works quite well even considering.
other question: when wmp buffers it gives me a % gauge.....I noticed that tcpmp seems to give me the little windows hourglass(or ppc win5 equivalent) instead of a % guage....is this normal and what you all see? I thought it kinda weird and thought I would ask. thanks a million.
