hmmm, .....maybe the WM6 kitchen? http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=11074
Really, there's only one pre-cooked rom anymore that's kept moderately up to date (RobMayer's Clean, NoJunk WM6: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9841), and a number of people rave about it.

Hmm, never thought of the do it youself approach.
downloaded it.... going to read through the text files and do some searching here before I go any deeper with a kitchen. |

I really doubt you'll be sorry with the kitchen. The only concern I would have is whether the coming replacement phone has been "upgraded" to the new Bell Mobility WM5 AKU3.3. That rom upgrade was a great event really - it brought the updated hardware drivers that made our devices suddenly much more stable than they used to be (lost cards, DSODs, WSODs, all gone) - so it's a key part of both the kitchens (WM5 and WM6). Problem is it included a new bootloader (version 1.04 or 2.04) that can make your upgrade experience a little non-standard. (See the Sticky if it applies).

good point. I've loaded that exact ROM onto my phone right now before I return it.... no sense voiding my warranty with a non OEM ROM.
I'll have to wait and see what ROM is on the new phone. I'm sort of torn between getting another 6700 and an upgrade to a 6800. The 6700 would be nice in that I've go this great community to work with to tweak it to my liking. On the other hand, the 6800 would be nice as the latest hardware. I'll definitely look at the sticky if it comes with the 6700 comes with the latest ROM. |
