I figure people would get a kick out of this, so I'm sharing some pics. I used to repair xv6700s. This is my dining room table:

Nice, I like this one. But where are they all now?

Those are all the left-over parts after I stopped doing it. I would buy lots of them, fix anything wrong with them, then resell them. Some were beyond repair when I got them and couldn't be resold, so from those I used the good parts to repair other units. It worked out nicely.

Do you still have any of those cases left? I wouldn't mind getting a new case. The Verizon case should work on a Sprint phone, right?

yeah, same phone, just different color/branding. To change them though you'd have to take the whole phone apart.

@VZguy Did you give any special mark on the phone that you rebuilt ? so that we can check wether our phone were your job or not ? just wanna know....:mrgreen:

Verzonguy ... got any of those rubber pieces that sit on top of the joystick ... mine seemed to have left the room :)

yeah, i can send you one free if you want, but you'd have to completely take apart your phone as servicing the function pad requires removing everything to get to it.

I glued a piece of the eraser from my Pentel pencil to replace my rubber nub.

are you selling any parts? cause i also lost the rubber track knob thing and the stylus..

Based on someone else's suggestion, I use a Bling (c) stone when I lost my rubber top... Worked out better than I ever thought it would...

rofl.. i still havent lost that nub..

but that Bling idea is good

(PS: Vguy, do you have working screens, just incase i crack mine :)

those bling stones from Bestbuy? does it fit right in or do you have to cut it down? screencap maybe?

I accidently tatoo'd mine with a soldering iron and it looks quite pathetic. I also broke my volume slider and my directional pad is broken it acts like i'm pressing down on it some times.

I think I have a couple left that work ok but are scratched.

And I'm sure you're being inundated with requests but if ya have another rubber nub for the top of the joystick hanging around I'd sure be interested & I'd paypal ya for shipping costs...

I got them at Walgreens - and for a while was sending them out to anyone who wanted a few because I had to buy 200 in a package. Always wondered what the post office thought about the little packages I was sending out in envelopes all over the country. Anyway, they come in a package with blue and crystal - and they fit exactly and have sticky on the back. The one I have on now has been on my phone for at least 5 months and actually is "grippier" than that little black nub. I only have about 8 left and I don't want to send those out, but somebody else could certainly buy a package and share. - sheureka

LOL Im sorry but would you sell me a black casing????? My case us silver and severly dinged...So I would like to replace it...Actually if you have several I would like to buy 2 so I can play and paint one. Anyways let me know man......If possible I would like it to be sprint but that doesnt matter...

LOL... I bet someone was maxing out their PM's on this one.

I cracked my screen in a fit of stumbling late one night. Luckily I still had the old one that I ran over with my truck so I was able to take apart the screen and replace it. BUt in the process I got a bit overzealous and mussed with the slider dial on the side.. so yah.. now I have no slider dial or the damn little coil that holds it in place. I have to keep the black button in the middle or the volume goes crazy.

I figure once someone makes a kitchen for the 6800 I'll move over to that. I'm not even sure it's available yet on verizon (have sprint now and their coverage sucks)

I was going to take a pic with my phone, but realized I needed two mirrors to do it... ;) Here is a pic of a mouse covered with Bling stones I found on a Google image search... Just one of those stone replaces the nub...

v-guy, in an effort to ease your apparent "part-popularity" here, why dont you just give us some sources of where to find cheap parts for self-servicing our 6700's...

cool, when i go to bestbuy i'll ask a rep if they have an opened returned pack... it's a huge waste to get a pack just to use one of em!

P.S. I noticed on my two sprints they have different camera lens.. anyone know the differences?

vg How about a USB connector, Sprint won't fix mine, but did get a refurb 6700 from ins. Would like to get the old one running as a back-up.

Wow Verizonguy, I coulda gotten a screen from you instead of parting out my busted Apache! I'm seeling it's parts one by one with proceeds going to further this site and Helmi. Still, I miss having the extra for test purposes. It was the one I used to test all of your WM6 kitchens you were cranking out. I might get with you and see what you have that I need as the motherboard is still good and all I'd need is the parts ie-screen, speaker, etc...

Would you have any of those black cases available? I would like one of those myself.
