Verizon xv6700 to Alltel?

I have a XV6700 that I used on verizon and loved the phone, I recently changed to alltel and would love to activate it on alltel. I have tried searching and have read some posts that say its possible and some say its not. I don't want a PDA plan on alltel, just need voice and text msg to work. Is it possible to just flash it to alltel? If so, does someone have a guide on how to do it?

Im using an xv6700 on Alltel with data and everything, stilll using the VZW rom though. I havent flashed it yet.

All I had to do to use the phone on Alltel was...

dial ##778, press send
select edit, enter 000000
select Home SID/Home NID dropdown menu
enter Alltels SID for your home area, and keep the 65535

then select the NAM dropdown menu,
for Mobile Directory enter your ten digit phone number
for MIN1 enter your number without area code
for MIN2 enter your area code only
for MSID enter your ten digit number
you should be able to go down the whole list and replace your old 7 digit number with your new 7 digit number, if you ported you should'nt have to.

save and soft reset,
go back to the dialer, press menu, options,
select services tab, select network service and click get settings
check radio button for home only,

exit and your roaming triangle should come on,
back to phone dialer, dial 611 and you should hear the Alltel girl say "Thanks for calling Alltel"

If you do, you're golden, dial *228, and select option 2, this will load your phone with the Alltel PRL,

your roaming triangle should go away, and you now have an Alltel phone

then you can call *228 again and select option 3 for OTA programming after you have added the ESN to your account.

If you don't want data, you should just be able to not setup a data connection and be o.k. Thats how I did it step by step. I've been using the xv6700 for about two months on Alltel and I love it. Still not ready to flash it yet though, I'm pretty hesitant about that for some reason.

Anyways, hope that helps, lemme know if you have any questions. I'm a newbie but I'll help where I can.

The reason it works here is because Alltel accepts Verizon phones. Verizon does not accept Sprint phones [yet].

Correct, aslo with Sprint you will need the phones MSL to enter PST.
