OEM Audiovox batteries on EBAY. Hundreds of them. Under $10. Sheesh it's not that hard to search. |

Sorry to disagree with you schettj -
Virtually all the batteries on ebay with a buy-it-now price under $10 (even those claiming to be OEM) are generic, all-plastic batteries with a landscape-orientated label that says something like "For AU-6700...Li-ion Battery...3.7V". There is no mAh rating shown, but based on my experience with the one I bought they are under 1000 mAh (compared to 1350 OEM). You can also find real OEM batteries under $10, but they are generally not new. I've had good success with "OEM," UTStarcom batteries I bought on ebay in the $13-$16 range. They at least have a steel casing and are properly labeled, though I suspected on a close examination that they might be high-quality counterfeits (both the label and the casing details are slightly different and cheaper). Ebay Vendor "Network482" is selling something similar now for $6.95 - this might be a good one, but I still doubt that it's a genuine UTStarcom battery. Bottom line, $10 each for two new genuine OEM batteries from Verizonguy is a good deal, provided he's not charging 11.95/ea for shipping.

Yeah, I'd be pretty careful about these no-name batteries. I've even seen reports that sometimes re-labeled, used batteries get re-sold as new, even though they'll only hold a small charge. I think those kind of fly-by-night operations hope and expect that when you pay $7.95 for a battery that it's not worth the trouble to go after them for a refund, much less for actually cheating you...

I've gotten many cheap batteries on eBay. I'd say about 75% are worth it... the rest have trouble charging from the beginning or don't last a year.
I decided to try something that I heard was better. I'm pretty sure that the large "extended" batteries that I've gotten on eBay don't last that much longer versus the additional size. I just ordered one of these. The price fluctuates as it is based on the Euro (mine was about $1.50 less than this listed price) but is still reasonable, especially since there is no additional charge for shipping. Sprint PPC-6700 battery (1500 mAh) Suitable for: PPC-6700 Compatible with: BTR6700B, BTR6700, 35H00060-01M, HERM, 300, PA16A, HERM160, 35H00074-00M, 35H00060-0M, PM16A Capacity: 1500 mAh Type: Li-pl Voltage: 3.7 V. 12 month warranty Model number: CS-AP6700SL Normal price: $ 40.03 Our price: $ 31.13
