Great collection. I've got this thread bookmarked.

However... For the life of me, I cannot get this hack to work for me for the wireless manager icon...

I've tried several times, several different ways, with several soft resets, but it won't take. This has worked fine on all the previous roms I've used. I'm currently on the 11/17 Helmi WM6.

Any ideas?

THX and youre welcome...

As for the hack to remove the WirelessMng icon.....this is a bit more simple and direct, although almost the same,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr
DWord: Keep Set Value: 0 0x0(0)

Hmmm... Something strange is going on. This simply doesn't work in my case. Not sure why. I also tried adding a ShowIcon DWORD value (set to 0) and that doesn't help either. As I mentioned previously, I've done this several times in the past without problem.

I notice there is a key within the WirelessMgr key called "LaunchApplet", which I don't recall seeing before. I wonder if my problem is related to that key. Does everyone else have that key?

I've got it, too. (Kitchen R3, 11/17/07)

Hey I tried the hack for the GPS. I did the first part with deleting the "hide" part, but once I did that I couldn't add Group. What am I doing wrong? Thanx

Try it this way.....

HKLM/CONTROLPANEL/GPS SETTINGS
This ads the GPS icon to your Settings tab.
This hack to make the GPS icon and options appear on your phone .
HKLM\ControlPanel\GPS Settings
- Change "Hide" to 0

If you need a vid as a tutorial, just PM me.

All of these hacks are for WM5 and not restricted to the Apache. If you really want your ringing to be loud LOUD, then the best I have found (IMHO) was to use PhotoContacts and set it to "OUTDOOR". I swear I had to turn mine down on several occassions.
