Question Why doesn't the dialer recognize numbers as alphabetic contact names?

When I dial numbers, my XV6700 doesn't seem to recognize the numbers as the alphabets of a contact and display possible candidates from my contacts list.
For example, if I dial the numbers 5646, I expect my cell phone to show not only all phone numbers in my contact that start with 5646 but also names that match the alphabets under 5646 (e.g., "John").
Is this possible?

You need to have the smartdialing feature installed to have that functionality as far as I know.

Or you can use PocketCM as it will bring up contacts either by name or number.

Will PocketCM be integrated with Windows Mobile 5.0's dialer?
Otherwise, I don't think I need another contact manager, since I can do what Pocket CM does with my current PIM.
I want to be able to bring up contacts from the dialer.

And where can I get the smartdialing feature?
Could you provide a link for downloads?
Thanks.
