I had an issue where after upgrading to my first WM6 kitchen ROM my Wireless LAN icon wasn't present under settings / connections. I didn't really mess with the issue as I needed to make some changes. When I cooked a new ROM and loaded it the icon was back. I don't know if this helps but if you're in a position to so so then perhaps this works for you.

When you go to Settings then Connections do you not have any wireless or WiFi icons?
I thought you may have updated to WM6 as many of us here have done and this was when your issue arose as you mentioned the hard reset which can be part of that process. Your hard reset I gather was to get rid of someone else's customizations and programs? When you did the hard reset the aforementioned icons (and the programs) should have automatically loaded from your WM5 ROM. I guess by now you've already loaded progs and you're interested in a resolution without another hard reset? Last edited by trehouse; 11-14-2007 at 10:24 AM. |

i would try a hard reset unless you feel comfortable flashing to an upgraded version of WM6 that has been cooked up

It's difficult to troubleshoot this as I'm curious about the basics. Wifi turned on in connection manager. When you go to Wireless LAN are you seeing any networks? Did you go to Change Network button and then sellect All Available in the pull down box?
Just tryin to narrow things down if you want to hold off on a ROM upgrade for the moment (but you should ultimately move to a WM6 ROM IMHO if you're not there yet (Settings then on 1st tab go to About) as it's more stable and give you more RAM availability). |
